Chapter 4 - The Ghost in the Wall

They crawled frantically through the narrow, dusty metal tunnels for several agonizing minutes.
The deafening sound of automatic gunfire slowly faded into a dull echo behind them.
They finally dropped down into a completely hidden surveillance room deep within the walls.
The room was filled entirely with glowing monitors showing every single camera in the hotel.
Maya stared in absolute shock at the massive array of secret screens.
"I built this hidden room to secretly watch over my entire empire," Vance explained sadly.
He pointed a shaking finger at the glowing security monitor showing the underground vault.
Maya gasped when she saw Eleanor heavily tied to a chair in front of the massive steel door.
"Julian completely bankrupted his cartel bosses, and he owes them fifty million dollars," Vance stated.
"He needs that data drive to buy back his own miserable life."
Maya realized that Eleanor was never a willing accomplice in this terrifying nightmare.
"We have to call the outside police and get her out of there right now," Maya pleaded.
Vance shook his head slowly with a completely defeated look on his tired face.
"Julian completely paid off the local police chief months ago to ignore our alarms," Vance warned.
They were entirely on their own against a massive squad of heavily armed mercenaries.
Vance pulled a heavy black tactical shotgun from beneath the security console.
He loaded the heavy weapon with a series of loud, terrifying metallic clicks.
"We are going down to the vault to save my goddaughter right now," Vance declared.
They slowly crept out of the hidden room and into the hotel's lower access tunnels.
Maya carried a heavy steel crowbar she found in the old maintenance closet.
They completely avoided the heavily patrolled main hallways by using the dark maintenance shafts.
They finally reached the massive steel balcony completely overlooking the underground vault room.
Maya looked down and saw Julian entirely screaming at the terrified Eleanor.
Julian was violently forcing Eleanor's eye open to scan her retina on the vault door.
The massive steel doors slowly began to grind open with a deafening metallic screech.
May you like
Vance aggressively aimed his heavy shotgun at Julian from the dark balcony above.
Before the old billionaire could pull the trigger, a red laser sight appeared directly on his chest.
