Chapter 6 - The Ghost Returns

Thick, highly acrid smoke quickly filled the underground garage, plunging the entire area into absolute, terrifying chaos.

Marcus coughed violently, blindly firing his suppressed pistol into the dense white fog without aiming.

Kiora dropped instantly to her knees, safely shielding her belly as stray bullets ricocheted wildly off the concrete pillars.

From the swirling smoke, the silver-haired protector emerged looking exactly like an avenging angel of death.

Elias moved with breathtaking, lethal grace, completely disarming two of Marcus's elite guards before they could even blink.

He struck the third guard brutally with the solid butt of his rifle, sending the man crashing heavily to the floor.

Jax seized the chaotic opportunity, swiftly tackling the remaining mercenary and securing a dropped automatic weapon.

"I thought Vanessa had you tied securely to a metal chair!" Kiora cried out in sheer, overwhelming relief.

Elias offered a rare, remarkably grim smile as he gently but firmly helped Kiora back to her feet.

"It takes considerably more than a few cheap nylon ropes to hold a dead man," Elias replied gruffly.

Marcus stumbled backward clumsily, his arrogant composure entirely shattered by Elias's sudden, miraculous appearance.

"Kill him right now!" Marcus screamed hysterically at his remaining, highly disoriented security detail.

Elias fired three incredibly precise shots, disabling the advancing guards by striking their legs without dealing lethal blows.

He quickly cornered Marcus violently against the heavy steel door of a dark maintenance closet.

Elias pressed the smoking barrel of his rifle directly against Marcus's expensive tailored chest.

"Where exactly is Julian being held?" Elias demanded, his deep voice absolutely devoid of all mercy or patience.

Marcus laughed bitterly, spitting dark red blood onto the dusty concrete floor.

"You are entirely too late, Elias," Marcus sneered triumphantly, wiping his mouth with his sleeve.

"Vanessa quietly moved him to the offshore commercial oil rig an hour ago."

Elias struck Marcus hard across the jaw with a closed fist, knocking the treacherous brother completely unconscious.

"We absolutely have to secure a fast helicopter right now," Elias told Jax with extreme urgency.

Kiora suddenly felt a sharp, utterly agonizing tear in her lower abdomen that made her cry out.

Warm, clear fluid rushed rapidly down her legs, soaking her expensive maternity dress entirely.

Kiora collapsed weakly into Elias's strong arms, her beautiful face draining rapidly of all healthy color.

"Elias," Kiora gasped breathlessly, clutching his leather jacket tightly with white knuckles.

"The baby is coming right now."
