Chapter 10 - The Unfinished War

The sprawling mansion was fully secured by the time morning arrived, leaving Massimo back in absolute control of his empire.

The treacherous doctor had been quietly dealt with, and Camille was locked away, awaiting her final, inevitable punishment.

Massimo sat comfortably in his grand library, no longer confined to a wheelchair, but standing tall by the roaring fireplace.

Carla sat close beside him on the leather sofa, a small white bandage neatly wrapped around a minor scrape on her arm.

Nina sat happily on the floor, playing with her stuffed bear, completely oblivious to the extreme violence of the night before.

Massimo looked down at the beautiful housekeeper and her sweet daughter, feeling a sense of peace he hadn't known in years.

He officially made Carla the head of his personal estate, ensuring she and Nina would never have to struggle or scrub another floor.

More than that, he openly promised to raise Nina as a true, protected member of the powerful Rinaldi family.

The Rinaldi empire was safe, the traitors were dead, and Massimo finally had a future that was truly worth living for.

They smiled together as the warm morning sun poured through the giant windows, washing away all the lingering darkness.

The brutal civil war was officially won, and the broken family was finally whole and unconditionally happy.

A week later, Carla was cheerfully sorting the morning mail when she noticed a heavy, unmarked black envelope.

She opened it with a frown, and her blood ran completely cold as she looked at the contents.

Inside was a recent photograph of her late husband, standing side-by-side with the Bellandi boss who had supposedly died ordering the ambush.

A handwritten note on the back simply read that he was still alive, and he was coming back to claim his daughter.
