Chapter 10 - The Promise (Ending)

Two years later.

The Sterling mansion was unrecognizable. The formal, stifling art pieces had been replaced by finger paintings. The quiet, eerie hallways were constantly filled with the sound of running feet and laughter.

It was a bright, sunny afternoon in the estate's massive gardens.

A string quartet played softly in the background, but this time, there was no press. There were no fake smiles or business partners. It was just close friends, loyal staff, and family.

Elena stood at the end of an aisle made of white rose petals, wearing a breathtakingly simple silk gown. Standing at the altar was Alexander, holding back tears, looking at her like she was the only woman on earth.

Clara and Sophie, wearing matching flower girl dresses, ran down the aisle, completely ignoring protocol, to hug Elena’s legs before she even reached their father.

Alexander stepped forward and took Elena’s hands.

"I spent my whole life building an empire," Alexander said, his voice carrying over the quiet breeze. "But I didn't know what a home was until you fought for mine. You saved my daughters. You saved me."

Elena smiled, wiping a tear from his cheek. "I just loved them, Alexander. And then, I loved you."

"Forever?" he asked softly.

May you like

"Forever," she promised.

As they kissed, the girls cheered loudly. The poison was gone. The shadows had vanished. The billionaire hadn't just protected his wealth—he had finally realized what was truly worth protecting.
