Chapter 3 - The Broken Chandelier

Eleanor moved faster than the human eye could track.

She grabbed the silver ice bucket from the table and smashed it violently into Grant's wrist.

Grant's gun fired wildly into the ceiling, instantly shattering the massive crystal chandelier.

The ballroom erupted into absolute chaos as heavy shards of glass rained down on the guests.

Eleanor grabbed Cole by his expensive lapels and dragged him behind a thick marble pillar.

The fake waiter unleashed a hail of bullets that shredded the wall exactly where Cole had just been standing.

Cole pulled his own weapon, his mind spinning from the sheer adrenaline and betrayal.

He asked Eleanor who the hell had just tried to assassinate him.

Eleanor calmly reloaded a small, silver pistol she had pulled from a holster hidden beneath her gown.

She told him the hit squad belonged to his own uncle.

Cole fired back at the approaching assassins, refusing to believe his family would orchestrate this slaughter.

Eleanor coldly reminded him that his father had died in a highly suspicious car accident three years ago.

She revealed that she had intentionally infiltrated his company to find the men responsible for that crash.

A heavy grenade suddenly bounced across the floor and landed directly at their feet.

Cole realized they had exactly three seconds to live.

He grabbed Eleanor's waist and tackled her violently through the floor-to-ceiling glass window.
