Chapter 3 - The Ghost's Touch

Marcus furiously tapped the screen of the locked device.

He demanded to know whose thumbprint was required to open the audio files.

Leo looked up with tears in his eyes and pointed a trembling finger at the head maid.

Hannah stepped forward, her face completely unreadable.

Arthur looked at his loyal employee with deep confusion.

He asked Hannah how she could possibly be connected to this encrypted device.

Hannah ignored the billionaire and walked directly toward the armed lawyer.

Marcus pointed the barrel of his gun directly at her forehead.

He ordered her to unlock the machine before he pulled the trigger.

Hannah calmly placed her thumb against the glowing green scanner.

The device chimed cheerfully, and the screen turned bright green.

"Access granted," the computerized voice echoed through the silent room.

Marcus snatched the device back, his eyes widening in pure shock.

He looked at Hannah and asked who she really was.

Hannah reached up and slowly pulled off her dark, conservative wig.

Long, bright blonde hair tumbled down over her shoulders.

She removed the thick glasses that had disguised her face for three years.

Arthur gasped loudly, stumbling backward as if he had seen a ghost.

Without the disguise, Hannah looked exactly like Arthur's first wife, who had died in a car crash.

Victoria screamed from the corner of the room, recognizing the face immediately.

"My sister did not die in an accident," Hannah said with a cold, hard voice.

She explained that she had gone undercover as a maid to investigate the suspicious crash.

She had found the recorder hidden in her late sister's belongings.

Hannah had given it to Leo in secret, teaching him how to use it from the shadows.

Suddenly, the heavy wooden doors of the ballroom burst open with a deafening crash.

Dozens of heavily armed police officers flooded into the room with their weapons drawn.

Arthur breathed a sigh of relief, believing they were finally safe.

But the police captain walked straight past Marcus and pointed his weapon directly at Arthur.
