Chapter 3 - The Breach

The suffocating darkness of the mansion was immediately pierced by the frantic, flashing red strobes of the emergency backup lights.

Arthur quickly pulled a silver handgun from his tailored shoulder holster, his hands shaking with an intoxicating, dangerous mix of rage and fear.

He ordered Leo to stay exactly where he was, strictly forbidding the young boy from moving a single inch toward the door.

Leo firmly shook his head, calmly stating that the intruders were heavily armed and highly equipped with advanced thermal optics.

"They are not here to negotiate a peaceful surrender," Leo warned, confidently stepping toward the heavy oak door despite the command.

Arthur ignored the boy's chilling warning and sprinted recklessly down the grand marble staircase to check on Clara's safety.

The enormous, reinforced glass windows of the main living room shattered violently as tear gas canisters were fired directly from the front lawn.

Highly trained mercenaries, dressed entirely in unmarked, pitch-black tactical gear, rapidly poured into the ground floor of the estate.

Arthur immediately fired two loud warning shots into the ceiling, fiercely demanding that the deadly intruders leave his private property.

The lead mercenary simply raised a specialized, silent rifle and shot a high-powered tranquilizer dart directly into Arthur's chest.

Arthur collapsed instantly onto the floor, his vision blurring rapidly as the highly concentrated chemical sedative aggressively took effect.

He watched completely helplessly as three heavily armed men began marching methodically up the marble stairs toward Clara's isolated bedroom.

Suddenly, a small, incredibly fast shadow dropped out of nowhere from the second-floor balcony directly onto the advancing mercenaries.

It was Leo, moving with a terrifying, calculated speed and lethal precision that no normal child could ever possibly possess.

He expertly disarmed the first massive man in a total blur of motion, smartly using the mercenary's own heavy momentum to throw him violently down the stairs.

Leo swiftly dodged a desperate, grasping hand from the second guard, viciously sweeping the large man's legs entirely out from under him.

The third mercenary panicked entirely and raised his lethal weapon, fully prepared to use deadly force against the unarmed boy.

Before he could pull the heavy trigger, a solid brass lamp crashed violently onto the back of the mercenary's unprotected head.

Leo looked up in genuine surprise to see Clara standing awkwardly in the doorway of her bedroom, breathing incredibly heavily.

She had miraculously dragged herself out of bed and walked entirely across the room just in the absolute nick of time to save him.

Leo rushed up the final few stairs, eagerly grabbing her hand and helping her balance as her weak legs trembled violently under the strain.

"We have to leave right now," Leo urged frantically, gently guiding her toward the hidden, narrow servant's staircase in the back hallway.

Clara looked down at her unconscious father with hot tears streaming down her pale face, desperately begging to take him with them.

Leo sadly told her that the powerful sedative would keep him perfectly safe, but the men would absolutely kill her if she stayed.

As they quietly slipped into the narrow, pitch-black passageway, Clara clearly heard the mercenary captain speaking frantically into a radio.

The captain confidently confirmed that the primary target was secure, but he explicitly mentioned taking orders directly from Arthur's trusted private doctor, Dr. Vance.

Clara gasped in sheer, unadulterated horror, finally realizing that the very man who had treated her paralysis for years was the ruthless mastermind orchestrating the attack.
