Chapter 5 - The Bank Ambush

The morning sun had barely risen when we pulled up to the First National Bank.

Ethan had perfectly coordinated a disruption plan using his old tactical contacts.

We watched from across the street as Ryan and Diane stepped out of their luxury sedan.

They walked arrogantly up the marble steps, completely confident in their evil victory.

I waited exactly five minutes before bursting through the heavy glass doors of the bank.

"Stop that man, he is trying to steal my children's trust fund!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

The entire lobby fell silent as the security guards rushed toward the commotion.

Ryan spun around, his face draining of color as he saw me standing there.

Diane quickly pulled the fake court order from her designer handbag to show the branch manager.

"This woman is legally unhinged and has no authority over this account," Diane argued loudly.

I threw my phone onto the manager's desk, playing the audio recording of their late-night confession.

The manager's eyes widened in shock as he heard Ryan admit to planning corporate fraud.

Ryan lunged forward to smash the phone, but Ethan easily pinned him against the marble counter.

"I demand you process the transfer right now, I am their legal guardian!" Ryan shouted frantically.

The bank manager nervously typed the account numbers into his secure terminal.

He stared at the computer screen for a very long time, looking completely bewildered.

"I cannot process this transfer, Mr. Vance," the manager said quietly.

Diane slammed her fists on the desk, demanding to know what the problem was.

"The account has a balance of exactly zero dollars," the manager explained.

Ryan stopped struggling against Ethan's grip, a look of pure terror washing over his face.

"That is impossible, there were five million dollars in that trust yesterday!" Ryan gasped.

The manager turned the monitor around so we could all see the transaction history.

"The entire sum was legally withdrawn and transferred to an offshore account at 6:00 AM this morning."

I stood there in complete shock, realizing that someone else had beaten us to the money.

My phone suddenly buzzed with a text message from a blocked number.

"If you ever want to see your children again, you will bring me the money," the message read.
