Chapter 7 - The Digital Sabotage

I stared at the live video feed in sheer, suffocating terror as my mother gleefully destroyed my only chance at survival.

If she successfully erased my medical profile from the national registry, I would never receive the life-saving kidney I desperately needed.

Evelyn was typing with frantic, greedy energy, completely unaware that Sterling was watching her every single move through the hidden webcam.

Sterling did not panic, simply cracking his knuckles and launching a massive, military-grade counter-hack directly into the hospital mainframe.

He deployed a vicious digital virus that instantly froze my mother's computer terminal and locked her entirely out of the network.

I watched on the screen as Evelyn pounded her fists angrily against the keyboard, realizing her murderous sabotage had completely failed.

Sterling quickly bypassed the corrupted registry files and manually restored my status to the absolute top of the national transplant priority list.

He explained that my rare blood type and critical condition legally guaranteed me the very next available organ in the entire state.

I collapsed back against my pillows, completely exhausted by the endless warfare my family was waging against my life.

Sterling handed me a glass of cold water and promised me that the nightmare was finally approaching its ultimate conclusion.

Suddenly, the heavy hospital telephone beside my bed began to ring with a loud, shrill urgency that made my heart race.

Sterling picked up the receiver, listened quietly for a few seconds, and a massive, genuine smile spread across his scarred face.

He hung up the phone and looked down at me with tears of joy shining in his cold, professional eyes.

He announced that a perfect, flawless kidney match had just arrived at the trauma center downstairs from a tragic motorcycle accident.

The surgical team was already prepping the operating room, and I was scheduled to receive my new life in exactly twenty minutes.

I wept uncontrollably, thanking God and Sterling for delivering me from the jaws of absolute death.

The hospital doors swung open, and a team of smiling surgical nurses rushed in to prepare me for the life-saving operation.

They carefully transferred me onto a mobile surgical bed and began wheeling me out of the suite toward the elevator bank.

As we rolled down the long, bright corridor, I saw my parents standing furiously near the nurses station, demanding to see me.

They realized that I was heading to surgery, which meant they were officially going to lose their ten-million-dollar inheritance forever.
