Chapter 8 - The Forgery

The board members murmured nervously amongst themselves, unsure of who actually held the power in the room.
Reid stood tall, completely confident that his forged document would save his entire empire.
He sneered at me, arrogant enough to believe that a fake signature could stop the wrath of the Bellamy family.
I did not yell, panic, or attempt to grab the fraudulent paper from the table.
I simply gestured to Nolan, who stepped into the room holding a sleek silver laptop.
Nolan connected the laptop to the boardroom’s massive presentation screen with terrifying efficiency.
I softly asked Reid if he actually believed that a billionaire heiress would stay in a hospital room without installing her own hidden cameras.
The color instantly drained from Reid’s face, leaving him looking like a terrified ghost.
Nolan hit the play button, and a crystal-clear, high-definition video illuminated the dark room.
The footage showed my unconscious body lying in the hospital bed just hours after the brutal beating.
Reid was clearly visible on the screen, standing over me with a clipboard and a pen.
The camera perfectly captured him forging my signature onto the transfer document with his own hand.
The room erupted into absolute outrage as the board members realized their CEO was committing felony fraud right in front of them.
But the video did not stop playing after the forgery was complete.
The hidden camera had also recorded a hushed conversation between Reid and Tessa, who had sneaked into the room a few minutes later.
The audio was perfectly clear as Reid whispered his ultimate, sinister plan to his mistress.
He coldly promised Tessa that once my money was secured, he was going to poison his own mother’s daily heart medication.

He explicitly detailed how Marjorie's death would give him total, undisputed control of the remaining family trust.
The boardroom doors suddenly opened, and Marjorie Kessler walked in just in time to hear her beloved son plotting her murder on a ten-foot screen.
