Chapter 2 - The Brothers in Arms

Richard stood frozen in the doorway of the lavish apartment he had secretly paid for with company funds.
His expensive briefcase slipped from his trembling fingers and crashed loudly onto the hardwood floor.
Julian slowly pulled away from Jessica, not showing a single ounce of fear, guilt, or regret.
Jessica calmly tightened the belt of her silk robe, offering Richard the exact same mocking smile she usually reserved for me.
Richard demanded an explanation, his voice cracking violently under the immense weight of the betrayal.
Julian casually poured himself a glass of expensive bourbon, leaning back against the plush leather sofa.
He confessed that he had been sleeping with Jessica long before she ever became Richard’s personal assistant.
The two children that Richard had so proudly claimed as his own legacy were actually his biological nephews.
Richard’s face turned a violent shade of red as he charged across the room to attack his smug younger brother.
Julian easily sidestepped the clumsy punch, shoving Richard hard against the heavy glass coffee table.
Richard screamed that he would destroy them both and immediately terminate Jessica's employment at Hawthorne Meridian.
He promised to take back every single company share he had generously gifted to those illegitimate children.
Jessica merely laughed, a cold and calculated sound that echoed through the massive, luxurious apartment.
She reminded Richard that the corporate shares were completely irrevocable and legally binding.
Richard sneered, claiming that the legal transfer specifically named him as the father of the beneficiaries.
He arrogantly stated that since the children were not his, the corporate shares would immediately revert back to his personal portfolio.
Julian took a slow sip of his bourbon, looking at his older brother with absolute, terrifying pity.
He reached into his tailored suit jacket and pulled out a crisp, neatly folded legal document.
Julian stated that Richard really should have read the fine print before signing the paperwork I had drafted for him.

He slowly unfolded the document and held it up so Richard could clearly read the terrifying text.
The contract explicitly transferred thirty percent of the company to the biological father of Jessica’s children, making Julian the new majority shareholder.
