Chapter 6 - The Hidden Lens

I stopped struggling and stared blankly at the screen.

Agent Harris paused, the handcuffs hanging loosely from his grip.

The video on the screen was taken from a high angle in my kitchen, looking down at the table.

"Where is this footage coming from?" Harris demanded, shouting into his radio.

I recognized the angle immediately.

It was the hidden nanny camera I had installed inside the smoke detector three years ago.

I had completely forgotten it even existed.

The video played the horrific scene in absolute clarity.

It showed Mark violently grabbing Lily by the jaw and forcing the foaming liquid into her mouth.

It showed Eleanor casually walking in, dropping the second bottle, and smirking.

And it showed me screaming, fighting like a wild animal to pull my baby away.

The room went completely silent as the horrific truth played out before our eyes.

Agent Harris quickly unlocked the handcuffs and stepped away from me.

"Get tech support in here right now!" he yelled into the hallway.

"I want the IP address of whoever just uploaded that video!"

I rubbed my bruised wrists, my chest heaving with heavy sobs of relief.

The truth was finally out in the open.

"We have a ping on the upload location," a technician shouted, running into the room with a laptop.

"Where is it?" Harris asked.

"It's coming from an abandoned warehouse down by the shipping docks," the technician replied.

"They're waiting for a smuggling boat to take them out of the country."

Harris turned to me, his face hardened with newfound determination.

"We are getting your daughter back right now," he promised.

He ordered a fully armed SWAT team to mobilize immediately.

They placed a bulletproof vest over my shoulders and put me in the back of an armored transport vehicle.

We raced through the city streets with sirens blaring, cutting through the early morning fog.

When we arrived at the docks, the warehouse was dark and ominously quiet.

The tactical team breached the front doors with a massive battering ram.

I followed closely behind Harris, my heart pounding in my ears.

We found the computer that had uploaded the video, sitting on a wooden crate.

But the warehouse was completely empty.

Suddenly, a massive steel shipping container in the center of the room began to rattle.

A muffled, terrified cry came from inside the locked metal box.
