Chapter 2 - The Forged Confession

The entire courtroom erupted into absolute chaos as the sinister voice echoed from the speakers.
Judge Thorne slammed her wooden gavel repeatedly against her desk to restore order.
Julian’s face had drained of all color, leaving him looking like a terrified ghost.
His expensive lawyer jumped up and wildly objected to the video being shown.
The lawyer claimed the footage was a manipulated deepfake created by a desperate, unstable woman.
I stood up slowly and addressed the judge with a perfectly calm voice.
I stated that the device could be handed directly to a police forensic expert to verify its absolute authenticity.
Judge Thorne agreed and ordered the bailiff to secure the digital recorder as official court evidence.
She turned her sharp glare toward Julian and demanded an explanation for the threat captured on tape.
Julian began to sweat profusely, his eyes darting toward the courtroom exit.
He stammered that it was just a terrible misunderstanding and a joke taken completely out of context.
Eleanor stood up from the gallery and shouted that I had clearly hired an actor to frame her innocent son.
The judge threatened to hold Eleanor in contempt of court if she spoke out of turn again.
Julian’s lawyer realized they were losing control of the narrative and frantically changed tactics.
He pulled a thick, sealed document from his leather briefcase and handed it to the bailiff.
The lawyer announced that he had newly discovered evidence regarding my supposed financial crimes.
He claimed the document proved I was the one who had actually emptied the family bank accounts.
The bailiff handed the document to Judge Thorne, who adjusted her glasses to read it carefully.
I felt a slight flutter of anxiety in my stomach as I wondered what lies they had manufactured now.
The judge frowned deeply and handed a copy of the document down to my table.
It was an official wire transfer authorization form directing three million dollars to an offshore account in the Cayman Islands.
The signature at the bottom of the page belonged to me.
It was a completely flawless, perfect replica of my distinct handwriting.
Julian smirked at me from across the aisle, his arrogant confidence returning in an instant.
His lawyer dramatically declared that I had stolen Julian’s life savings and was projecting my own guilt onto him.
He asked the judge to immediately grant Julian full custody before I could flee the country with Noah.
I stared at the document, my mind racing as my forensic accounting instincts kicked in.
I noticed a tiny, almost invisible discrepancy near the bottom right corner of the paper.
It was a faint, smeared purple ink mark shaped like a crescent moon.
I knew exactly what that mark was because I had seen it a thousand times before.
It was the specific defect of the notary stamp belonging to Julian’s office manager, Chloe.
I looked up from the paper and locked eyes with Chloe in the gallery.
She nervously shifted in her seat and pulled her sleeves down to hide her shaking hands.
I requested permission from the judge to call a hostile witness to the stand right now.

The judge granted my request, and I loudly called Chloe to testify under oath.
Chloe’s eyes widened in sheer panic as Julian violently grabbed her wrist to stop her.
