When she realized Harrison was cutting her out of his life, she changed tactics. If she couldn't control her son, she would control the heirs to the Sterling fortune.
Maya received the legal summons on a Tuesday. Eleanor had hired the most vicious family law firm in California, suing for emergency emergency custody of the triplets. The lawsuit claimed Maya was an unfit mother, citing her modest income and living conditions, and falsely accusing her of mental instability.

"She’s trying to take them," Maya panicked, calling Harrison. It was the first time she had called him. "She has a judge in her pocket. Harrison, she’s going to take my babies!"
"She won't touch a single hair on their heads," Harrison swore, his voice turning into ice. "I swear to you on my life, Maya. I will burn my own empire to the ground before I let her take them."
