Chapter 4 - The Spy in the Red Dress
Hannah flipped through the glossy surveillance photographs in total disbelief.
Vanessa was intentionally sabotaging Mercer Construction from the inside out to ensure the company failed.
She was seducing Ethan strictly to keep him distracted while she sold off his entire livelihood.
Hannah realized that if Vanessa actually succeeded, Ethan would inevitably default on the fraudulent bank loan.
That meant the ruthless bank executives would come directly after Hannah's assets due to the forged signature.
She knew she could not just walk away and let her treacherous husband's company burn to the ground.
She had to step in and save Mercer Construction just to protect herself from total financial ruin.
The next morning, Hannah dressed in a sharp, tailored black business suit instead of her usual teacher's cardigan.
She drove her modest sedan straight to the towering glass headquarters of Mercer Construction.
The terrified receptionist tried to stop her, but Hannah walked right past the security desk without pausing.
She pushed open the heavy glass doors leading directly into Ethan’s private executive office.
Ethan was sitting at his massive desk, looking exhausted, disheveled, and completely panicked.
Vanessa was standing right behind him, rubbing his tense shoulders with a sickeningly sympathetic smile.
Hannah slammed the heavy manila folder down onto the glass surface of the desk.
She coldly told Ethan that his beloved mistress was a corporate spy secretly working for the competition.
Ethan stared in shock at the vivid photos of Vanessa handing manila envelopes to rival corporate executives.
Vanessa instantly began to cry loudly, performing the role of an innocent, misunderstood victim perfectly.
She dramatically swore the photos were taken out of context and that she was merely asking old friends for career advice.
Ethan desperately wanted to believe the beautiful woman he had ruined his entire marriage for.
He angrily pushed the folder back across the desk toward Hannah.
He viciously accused Hannah of fabricating the evidence out of sheer, pathetic jealousy over his new relationship.
He picked up his phone and aggressively ordered building security to have his own wife escorted out of the building.
Two large security guards walked into the office a moment later and firmly grabbed Hannah's arms.

Vanessa whispered maliciously that Ethan would never leave her, because she was already two months pregnant with his child.
