Chapter 10 - The False Victory

Vanessa smiled wickedly at the absolute shock completely freezing Ethan's pale face.

She proudly revealed that while Ethan was distracted by the divorce scandal, she had quietly bought up all of his outstanding debts.

She had used the massive amounts of cash from her corporate espionage to completely buy out the angry board of directors.

Ethan lunged at her violently, screaming at the top of his lungs that she had ruined his entire life.

Two large security guards quickly tackled Ethan hard to the marble ground before he could reach the pregnant woman.

Hannah watched the incredibly pathetic display with cold, highly calculating eyes.

She stepped back up to the microphone and raised her hand slightly to demand absolute silence from the press.

The entire chaotic room quieted down immediately, waiting breathlessly for the billionaire's daughter to speak her piece.

Hannah looked directly at Vanessa and smiled a terrifying, genuinely victorious smile.

She calmly explained the hidden default clause buried deeply in the multi-million dollar collateral loan Ethan had originally forged.

The strict clause stated that in the event of documented corporate fraud, all company shares defaulted immediately to the primary collateral holder.

Because Ethan had forged Hannah's name on the paperwork, Hannah legally owned the debt, and therefore, she owned the entire company.

She turned to a stunned Vanessa and publicly fired her on the spot, stripping her of all access to the building.

She then formally fired Ethan, completely stripping him of his title, his remaining money, and his last shred of pride.

Hannah walked out of the building to the sound of thunderous, overwhelming applause from the vindicated shareholders.

She had finally won everything back and secured her absolute independence from the men who tried to break her.

She drove straight to her father's executive office tower to celebrate their massive, undeniable victory together.

She pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the penthouse suite, calling out Jonathan's name with a bright, happy smile.

The smile instantly vanished from her face as her briefcase slipped from her fingers and crashed to the floor.

Jonathan Vale was collapsed rigidly on the floor behind his desk, completely unresponsive and his face a terrifying shade of gray.

Standing casually over his unmoving body was Marcus, carefully folding a freshly signed and blood-stained legal document.

Marcus slowly looked up at Hannah with dark, entirely empty eyes and a chilling, victorious grin.

He stepped gracefully over her father's lifeless body and softly told her that Jonathan had just transferred the entire Vale empire to him, right before suffering a very tragic, unexpected heart attack.
