Chapter 8 - The Federal Intervention

Heavily armed federal agents poured out of the tactical vehicles, shouting commands through loud megaphones.
They instantly tackled Khloe to the ground, slapping heavy steel handcuffs onto her wrists.
Paramedics rushed forward with a stretcher, securing Liam and loading him into a waiting ambulance under heavy guard.
Alexander stood protectively in front of Olivia as a man in a sharp suit approached them.
"Ms. Carter, I am Director Vance with the FBI," the man introduced himself respectfully.
"We have been tracking this cartel for three years, and your husband's massive debts finally gave us a way in."
Director Vance explained that Alexander’s security team had contacted the authorities the moment the penthouse was breached.
The FBI had monitored the helicopter crash and waited for Khloe and Liam to incriminate themselves completely.
"You are completely safe now," the Director assured her with a genuine smile.
The sheer relief washed over Olivia so violently that her legs finally gave out.
Alexander caught her before she hit the ground, lifting her carefully into his strong arms.
He carried her to a medical transport helicopter that rushed them directly to the best hospital in New York.
For three agonizing days, Olivia lay in a private hospital bed, fighting to keep her babies safe.
The doctors managed to stop the early labor, ensuring the twins could continue to grow healthy and strong.
Alexander never left her side, sleeping in the uncomfortable chair next to her bed every single night.
He handled the press, the lawyers, and the total dismantling of Liam's corrupt company.
On the fourth morning, Olivia woke up to find the hospital room filled with beautiful white roses.
Alexander was sitting by the window, reading a financial newspaper with a soft smile on his face.
"Liam has officially been indicted on sixty counts of federal fraud and racketeering," Alexander announced.
"Khloe gave up the entire cartel operation in exchange for a lighter prison sentence."
Olivia let out a breath she felt like she had been holding for six months.
The nightmare was finally over, and she had survived with her children completely unharmed.
"Thank you, Alexander," she whispered, tears of profound gratitude welling in her eyes.
Alexander walked over and gently took her hand, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles.
"You don't ever have to thank me, Olivia," he said softly.
"I would burn the entire world down just to keep you safe."
He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small, dark velvet box.
"I know it is entirely too soon, and we have been through a war together," he began nervously.
"But I want to spend the rest of my life building an empire with you by my side."
He opened the box to reveal a breathtaking, flawless diamond ring.
"Will you marry me, Olivia?"
Olivia looked at the man who had risked his life for her, her heart swelling with an unexpected, beautiful love.
"Yes," she answered, a radiant smile breaking across her tired face.

Alexander slipped the ring onto her finger, sealing their incredible new future together.
But as he leaned in to kiss her, a nurse walked into the room carrying a large, unmarked envelope.
