Chapter 6 - The Private Island

Adrian stole a rusted pickup truck from the diner parking lot and drove relentlessly through the night toward the coast.

He arrived at a small, hidden marina and paid a local fisherman a small fortune in cash to transport him across the bay.

The small boat cut silently through the dark, choppy water until the massive silhouette of Sterling's private island loomed in the distance.

Adrian slipped into the freezing ocean and swam the remaining distance, completely avoiding the heavy patrol boats circling the perimeter.

He dragged himself onto the rocky shore, his wet clothes clinging heavily to his exhausted body.

He bypassed the heavily armed guards by scaling the sheer cliff face that led up to Sterling's massive, modern compound.

Adrian disabled a security camera, picked the lock of a side entrance, and silently slipped into the luxurious mansion.

He moved like a ghost through the lavish hallways, relying on his absolute rage to keep his shivering muscles moving.

He finally reached Sterling's private office, hoping to find a manifest or a map of the sprawling island facility.

Adrian hacked into the desktop computer using a bypass drive Silas had provided him years ago for corporate espionage.

He opened a highly encrypted folder labeled with the medical terminology for rare bone marrow transplants.

He found comprehensive medical files proving that Noah possessed an incredibly rare blood type and genetic marker perfectly matching Sterling's dying son.

Noah had not been kidnapped out of simple corporate revenge or petty cruelty.

He had been stolen to serve as a secret, living organ donor for a billionaire's child.

Adrian scrolled down to the surgical schedule, his blood turning entirely to ice as he read the final entry.

Noah was scheduled for a final, highly invasive organ extraction procedure that would absolutely prove fatal.

Adrian looked at the digital clock on the computer screen, realizing he was completely out of time.

The fatal surgery was scheduled to begin in exactly fifteen minutes in the underground medical bunker.
