Chapter 2 - The Network Alert
Marcus struggled to process the horrifying truth that his loving new wife was actively trying to murder him.
He suddenly remembered that Julian Hayes was the chief financial officer of his own investment firm.
The entire plot was not just a domestic betrayal but a ruthless corporate takeover of his immense personal wealth.
Marcus quickly connected his laptop to the secure home network to download the video evidence to a hidden cloud server.
The massive file transfer caused a sudden spike in data usage and triggered an automatic alert on the home security system.
Sarah looked down at her glowing phone screen in the kitchen and saw the urgent network notification.
She frowned and realized that someone was actively accessing the local server from a device inside the house.
She reached into her expensive designer handbag and pulled out a suppressed tactical handgun.
She slowly walked down the hallway toward the closed door of the home office where the router was located.

Marcus watched the camera feed in absolute terror as his wife transformed into a cold and calculating killer.
She pressed her face against the wood of the office door and whispered that she knew he never got in the taxi.
