Chapter 9 - The Breaking Point
The tiny pocket of breathable air in the dark cellar was rapidly disappearing with every passing second.
Marcus desperately held his terrified wife above the freezing water while Clara weakly treaded water beside them.
He completely refused to let his beautiful family die in this dark miserable underground tomb.
He remembered a specialized explosive breaching charge still perfectly secured inside his waterproof tactical belt.
He frantically dug through his heavy pockets underwater and finally retrieved the small potent device.
Marcus aggressively pressed the sticky explosive directly against the center of the reinforced glass window.
He pulled his wife and Clara completely underwater and firmly shielded them with his own body.
He squeezed the waterproof detonator and a massive underwater shockwave violently rocked the entire room.
The reinforced glass completely shattered into a million tiny pieces and the massive water pressure violently expelled them.
They violently washed out into the muddy flooded drainage ditch located just outside the sprawling estate.
Marcus desperately dragged the two exhausted women onto the muddy bank as they violently coughed up water.
They were finally free from the deadly trap but the horrific nightmare was still far from completely over.
Fierce police sirens suddenly wailed loudly in the distance as massive flashing red and blue lights illuminated the sky.
Loyal FBI tactical teams had finally arrived to completely raid the corrupt and dangerous family estate.
Marcus heavily supported his pregnant wife and gently helped the bleeding Clara walk back toward the mansion.
They reached the stone patio just in time to see heavily armed officers surrounding a furious Eleanor.
She was desperately digging through the bloody shards of the broken camera lens on the cold stone.

She violently grabbed the tiny data chip from the wreckage and held it high in the air with a wicked smile.
Julian suddenly lunged from the dark shadows and violently plunged a stolen police knife directly into his mother's back.
