Chapter 6 - The Matriarch
Eleanor smiled wickedly as she held the silver revolver perfectly steady against her own daughter.
She coldly mocked Marcus for actually believing that Julian was the brilliant mastermind behind this operation.
The wealthy matriarch confessed that she had orchestrated the entire hostile takeover of the family empire.
She simply used her arrogant foolish son as a convenient puppet to execute the violent betrayal on the balcony.
Marcus slowly lowered his weapon and desperately begged Eleanor to tell him where his pregnant wife was located.
Eleanor laughed softly and ordered Marcus to slide the bloody flash drive across the cold concrete floor.
Clara screamed furiously at her mother and begged Marcus not to give up their only piece of leverage.
Marcus knew his wife would die if he did not comply with the ruthless woman standing before him.
He gently tossed the metallic flash drive onto the floor where it slid perfectly to Eleanor's expensive shoes.
She greedily picked up the drive and plugged it directly into a secure laptop resting on a nearby car hood.
The computer screen instantly flashed a bright red error message stating the data was completely corrupted.
Clara smiled weakly and revealed that the real drive was still hidden securely inside the destroyed camera lens.
She had purposely given Marcus a fake decoy drive to protect them from this exact scenario.
Eleanor let out a furious scream and violently pistol-whipped Clara across the face.
Marcus used the momentary distraction to violently kick the heavy laptop directly into Eleanor's chest.
The matriarch fell backward onto the hard ground and completely dropped her silver weapon.
Julian suddenly drove a massive armored SUV straight through the closed garage doors at terrifying speed.
