Chapter 3 - The Bloody Maze

Marcus crushed the useless radio in his hand and threw it silently into the dirt.

He and Clara were completely trapped inside the sprawling green labyrinth with no outside help coming.

Clara coughed up a terrifying amount of dark blood onto her torn designer dress.

She whispered frantically that her brother would never stop hunting them until they were both dead.

Marcus ripped a sterile bandage from his tactical pouch and firmly applied pressure to her bleeding head wound.

He promised the terrified heiress that he would get her out of this nightmare alive.

Heavy combat boots crunched loudly on the gravel pathways just a few feet away from their hiding spot.

The ruthless mercenaries were systematically clearing every single corner of the massive hedge maze.

Marcus pulled a silver combat knife from his boot because firing his weapon would instantly give away their position.

He silently dragged a passing guard into the dark shadows and knocked him completely unconscious with a swift strike.

He stripped the heavy tactical armor off the mercenary and quickly placed it over Clara to protect her.

They crawled desperately through a narrow opening in the thick bushes to reach the center of the labyrinth.

An ancient stone greenhouse stood quietly in the middle of the maze under the pale moonlight.

Marcus carefully kicked the glass door open and carried Clara inside the humid structure.

He thought they had finally found a secure location to rest and plan their next strategic move.

Suddenly a bright red laser dot appeared directly in the center of Clara's forehead.

A massive sniper rifle fired from the mansion roof and shattered the glass ceiling above them.

Marcus violently tackled Clara to the damp floor just as the lethal bullet struck the ground where she had been sitting.

They looked up and realized the greenhouse was totally rigged with deadly tripwires hidden in the dark.
