Chapter 3 - The Rival's Bargain

"Who exactly are you, and why did you just violently save my life?" Charlotte asked, clutching the highly important yellow envelope tightly.
The mysterious man casually poured himself a glass of expensive whiskey and calmly took a slow sip before answering her highly desperate question.
"My name is Julian Pierce, and I officially own the massive rival hotel empire sitting directly across the street," he replied smoothly.
Charlotte instantly recognized his highly famous name as Valle International's absolutely most ruthless, completely unforgiving, and powerful corporate enemy.
Julian explained that he was only secretly attending the anniversary gala to gather highly sensitive corporate intelligence to finally entirely destroy her family's company.
"I saw your completely insane aunt's little dramatic performance in the lobby, and I realized you are the exact key to finally bringing Margaret down," he stated.
He stepped entirely closer to Charlotte and completely aggressively snatched the highly important yellow envelope right out of her trembling hands.

They entered the massive, highly glittering gala completely entirely perfectly just as Margaret was confidently stepping up to the main microphone on the large stage.
Margaret smiled highly warmly at the massive crowd, totally entirely completely unaware that Charlotte was entirely still totally completely alive and confidently walking directly toward her.
"I entirely absolutely have some incredibly sad, highly completely tragic news to unfortunately share with all of our esteemed guests tonight," Margaret announced dramatically into the microphone.
