Chapter 6 - The Awakening

I looked at Vance standing on my lawn and felt a sudden, terrifying surge of pure adrenaline.

The artificial memories of my boring desk job were rapidly fading, replaced by the lethal instincts of a trained operative.

I knew exactly how many men were outside, what weapons they were carrying, and exactly how to dismantle their formation.

I pulled Sarah up from the floor and handed her the silver handgun.

"Go to the bathroom, get the kids, and barricade yourselves inside the basement," I ordered with absolute authority.

She looked at me, realizing that my deadly conditioning had finally broken through the mental blocks.

"What are you going to do?" she asked, her voice trembling with fear.

I picked up the tactical rifle from the unconscious mercenary on the floor and checked the heavy magazine.

"I am going to remind Mr. Vance exactly why I was his best agent," I replied coldly.

I kicked the front door wide open and instantly fired three precise shots into the massive spotlights.

The yard plunged into absolute darkness, sending the operatives into a state of chaotic panic.

I moved like a ghost through the shadows of my own home, engaging the highly trained men with ruthless efficiency.

I neutralized four operatives in the living room before they even realized where the bullets were coming from.

Vance screamed orders from the lawn, demanding his men breach the rear entrance immediately.

I sprinted toward the kitchen, ready to intercept the next wave of attackers at the glass door.

But before I could raise my rifle, a massive explosion ripped through the dining room wall.

The blast threw me violently across the kitchen, burying me under a heavy pile of shattered drywall and wooden beams.
