Chapter 8 - The Gala Ambush
The horrifying video evidence completely confirmed that Victoria was a cold-blooded murderer.
She had intentionally killed Arthur's first wife years ago just to slowly infiltrate his wealthy family.
Arthur's grief instantly transformed into a cold, highly calculated desire to destroy the woman who ruined his life.
Elias checked the corporate news network on his secure phone and found a live broadcast.
Victoria was currently hosting a massive charity gala at the city's most exclusive luxury hotel.
She was planning to publicly announce her hostile takeover of the Sterling Corporation in front of the global press.
Arthur decided it was time to expose the evil woman on live television in front of the entire world.
They abandoned the stolen police cruiser and acquired elegant formal wear from a closed boutique.
Arthur and Elias successfully infiltrated the crowded ballroom by blending in with the wealthy elite guests.
Chloe remained completely hidden in the secure broadcast control room located high above the massive ballroom floor.
Victoria stood elegantly on the grand stage, smiling brightly as she lied to the massive crowd of reporters.
She tragically claimed that her husband had suffered a severe mental breakdown and fled the country.
Arthur confidently stepped out from the shadows and began walking directly down the center aisle.
The entire ballroom fell completely silent as the presumed-dead billionaire approached the stage.
Victoria's fake smile instantly vanished, replaced by a look of absolute, terrified panic.
Arthur loudly declared that his wife was a fraud, a thief, and a ruthless murderer.
The reporters immediately began snapping photographs as the dramatic confrontation escalated rapidly.
Victoria suddenly started laughing maniacally into her microphone, completely abandoning her sweet persona.
She pulled a small electronic detonator from her elegant evening gown and held it high in the air.
Victoria proudly announced that the entire building was completely wired with military-grade explosives.

She looked directly at Arthur and arrogantly revealed that she had help from someone on the inside.
Elias slowly stepped up onto the stage and pointed his loaded pistol directly at Arthur's head.
