Chapter 10 - A New Threat

Arthur screamed his daughter's name and leaped off the stage with explosive speed.

He threw his body directly in the path of the falling glass, shielding Chloe from the dangerous shards.

A stray bullet grazed Arthur's shoulder, tearing through his expensive suit and drawing fresh blood.

Elias violently tackled Victoria to the stage floor before she could fire another deadly shot.

He easily pinned the screaming woman down and kicked the silver handgun far across the polished wood.

The massive doors of the ballroom suddenly burst open as dozens of heavily armed FBI agents swarmed the building.

Arthur had secretly sent the undeniable video evidence of the murder to the federal director hours ago.

The agents aggressively handcuffed Victoria and read the furious woman her legal rights as she cursed loudly.

The entire corrupt police force that had aided her was simultaneously dismantled by federal warrants.

Arthur held his trembling daughter tightly, completely ignoring the painful, bleeding wound on his shoulder.

He kissed Chloe's forehead and promised her that the nightmare was finally over for good.

Weeks later, the luxurious mansion was entirely restored to its former, peaceful glory.

Chloe was completely healthy again, laughing happily in the garden while wearing beautiful, expensive clothes.

Arthur watched her from the patio, his heart finally full of genuine peace and overwhelming gratitude.

He had legally cleared Elias's name, allowing the brave man to properly return to society as a free citizen.

The family was finally safe, heavily protected, and looking forward to a brilliant future together.

Later that afternoon, a pristine, unmarked black box was delivered directly to the front gates of the estate.

Chloe opened the expensive box in the foyer and found a perfectly folded, pure white maid uniform inside.

A small, handwritten note rested on top of the fabric, written in perfectly elegant red ink.

The note simply read, "Your father is not who you think he is, and your real shift is just beginning."
