Chapter 10 - The True Architect

We arrived at the secure penthouse twenty minutes later.
I locked Allie and Lily inside the reinforced master bedroom.
I went to my hidden armory and equipped myself with enough firepower to level a city block.
I drove alone to the Falco compound under the cover of the heavy storm.
I breached their front gates by driving a stolen delivery truck straight through the reinforced steel.
I fought my way through the courtyard, leaving a trail of absolute carnage in my wake.
I cornered Lorenzo Falco in his private study.
He begged for his life, but I put a single bullet directly through his heart.
I retrieved the wet flash drive from his desk and walked out of the compound victorious.
The Falco threat was permanently eliminated.
I returned to the penthouse covered in blood, but feeling a profound sense of triumph.
I walked into the kitchen and set my weapons on the marble counter.
Allie emerged from the bedroom, offering a warm, grateful smile.
She handed me a cup of hot tea and softly thanked me for saving their lives.
I drank the tea, feeling a deep, uncharacteristic sense of peace wash over my exhausted body.
I plugged the flash drive into my secure laptop to verify the contents.
I typed in the decryption password Allie had provided me.
The master file opened, revealing the true operational history of the Falco syndicate.
I scrolled through the documents, looking for the name of the man who had ordered my sister's murder three years ago.
I found the assassination file and clicked on the attached photograph of the Falco's top undercover operative.
The operative in the picture was smiling, standing over my sister's grave.

It was a photograph of Allie.
And the tea she had just given me was already making my legs go completely numb.
