Chapter 6 - The Underworld Auction
The private elevator rapidly descended toward the underground parking garage of the sprawling estate.
Silas kept his weapon tightly pressed against Elena's spine, ordering her to remain completely silent.
He pushed her into the back seat of a black, armored SUV with heavily tinted windows.
Silas climbed into the driver's seat and sped out of the garage, breaking through the wooden security barrier.
He coldly explained that he was a deep-cover operative for a ruthless international criminal syndicate.
The syndicate knew all about the microchip ring and desperately wanted the financial leverage it provided.
Silas drove for nearly an hour until they reached a massive, abandoned industrial warehouse on the edge of the city.
He forcefully dragged Elena inside, where dozens of heavily armed mercenaries stood guard.
In the center of the room, Marcus was tied securely to a metal chair, his face bruised and bleeding.
Silas had easily ambushed him at the docks and successfully stolen the diamond ring.
A wealthy, terrifyingly calm syndicate boss sat at a long table, examining the glittering jewelry under a bright light.
Elena realized with absolute dread that the ring's data was about to be auctioned off to the highest criminal bidder.
If the syndicate successfully decrypted the chip, they would own the entire Sterling empire and Julian would die in prison.
Elena desperately needed to create a massive distraction to delay the decryption process.
She quietly slid her hand into the hidden pocket of her ruined wedding dress and activated a distress beacon on her phone.
The syndicate boss placed the diamond ring into a sleek, high-tech computer terminal to begin the hack.
A loud, piercing alarm suddenly blared from the heavy steel doors of the warehouse entrance.
The massive metal doors exploded violently inward in a blinding, deafening ball of orange fire.

A lone figure confidently walked through the thick, swirling smoke wearing heavy tactical body armor.
Julian raised a military-grade assault rifle and aimed it directly at the syndicate boss.
