Chapter 6 - The Delivery

Dr. Vance offered Clara a deeply unsettling, purely clinical smile.
"This will make you sleep peacefully, my dear," he whispered, lowering the needle toward her fragile skin.
Before the sharp metal could pierce her neck, Martha swung a heavy steel medical tray with all her strength.
The metal smashed violently against the doctor's jaw, sending him crashing backward into a glass cabinet.
Dr. Vance slumped onto the dirty tile floor, entirely unconscious and bleeding heavily.
Marcus immediately stripped the doctor of his belt and tied him securely to the nearest heavy radiator.
"He must have tracked my old clinic locations and waited here," Marcus realized with intense anger.
Clara let out a deafening, blood-curdling scream as the baby began to physically crown.
There was absolutely no more time to run, fight, or panic.
Martha quickly rolled up her sleeves and ordered Marcus to find clean towels and boiling water.
"You have to push, Clara!" Martha commanded, completely dropping her usual subservient tone for one of fierce authority.
Clara gritted her teeth and pushed with every single ounce of strength she had left in her exhausted body.
The pain was blinding, absolute agony that made the entire room spin wildly around her.
She focused entirely on the beautiful life she had desperately sworn to protect against these absolute monsters.
With one final, earth-shattering scream, the room was suddenly filled with the miraculous sound of a crying infant.
Martha gently wrapped the tiny, perfectly healthy baby boy in a remarkably clean hospital blanket.
She placed the beautiful child securely on Clara's chest, tears of pure joy streaming down both their faces.
Clara kissed her son's forehead, feeling an overwhelming wave of absolute love and fierce protection.

Suddenly, a massive explosion violently blew the clinic's front doors completely off their heavy hinges.
Thick white smoke poured into the room as Daniel strutted inside with a terrifyingly wicked smile.
