Marcus scooped Clara into his arms without a single second of hesitation.
He sprinted down the remaining length of the tunnel while Martha struggled to keep pace behind them.

"Just hold on a little longer, Clara," Marcus yelled over the roaring wind and rain.
He expertly navigated the treacherous, winding mountain roads leading away from the sprawling estate.
He knew of a secret, abandoned medical clinic located in the neighboring valley where they could safely deliver the child.
But as they rounded a sharp corner, the headlights illuminated a terrifying roadblock ahead.
