Chapter 7 - The True Bloodline

Sofia stared at Victor Falcone in absolute disbelief.

The ruthless mafia boss who had tried to kill her at the restaurant was now claiming to be her father.

This makes no sense.

Sofia stammered, stepping backward away from the monster in the white suit.

Your men shot at me tonight.

Victor chuckled, a dark and terrifying sound that echoed over the dying gunfire.

My men shot at Riccardo to separate you from him.

Victor explained smoothly.

You were kidnapped from my estate twenty years ago by Riccardo's late wife.

She wanted to raise you as her own after her biological child died in that hospital fire.

Sofia felt the room spinning violently around her.

She had spent her entire life alone, only to discover she was the center of a blood feud.

Liar!

A voice roared from the grand staircase.

Riccardo appeared on the balcony, firing his weapon down at the Falcone mercenaries.

He threw a smoke grenade into the foyer, creating a massive wall of gray cover.

Get down!

The loyal guard shoved Sofia to the floor just as bullets shredded the air above them.

Riccardo slid down the marble banister and pulled Sofia behind a heavy stone pillar.

Do not listen to a single word that psychopath says.

Riccardo panted, his suit covered in dust and blood.

He orchestrated the hospital fire to kill my child, and he is trying to manipulate you now.

Victor's voice echoed through the thick smoke.

If I am lying, Riccardo, then why does she have the Falcone family birthmark on the back of her neck?

Riccardo froze, looking at the small, crescent-shaped birthmark hidden beneath Sofia's wet hair.

It was the exact same mark Victor bore on his own wrist.

Sofia touched the back of her neck, realizing her entire existence was a weapon designed to destroy Riccardo.

Victor stepped through the smoke, holding a gun directly to the head of a captured, terrified woman.

If you do not come with me right now, Sofia, I will execute the woman who raised you.

May you like

Victor pulled the woman forward into the light.

Sofia gasped in horror, recognizing the kind face of Sister Maria, the nun who had protected her at the orphanage.
