Chapter 8 - The Heartless Billionaire
Richard casually aimed a suppressed pistol directly at Elias, making sure he could not use his stolen rifle.
"Drop the weapon right now, or I will end your pathetic life immediately," Richard commanded coldly.
Elias slowly lowered the heavy tactical rifle to the floor, refusing to risk his sister's life.
Richard confidently stepped closer to the glowing stasis pod, gently touching the thick glass with affection.
"Evelyn has been in a deep, highly controlled coma for exactly ten long years," Richard explained softly.
He revealed that Evelyn suffered from a rare, completely incurable genetic heart defect.
Richard had married Clara specifically because her unique blood and tissue markers were a perfect match.
"I staged the funeral so the entire world would comfortably believe you were permanently gone," the billionaire sneered.
He pressed a red button on the wall, calling his elite surgical team into the sterile room.
Four heavily armed mercenaries marched into the room, followed closely by a tall man in full surgical scrubs.
The mercenaries aggressively grabbed Elias and forced him violently onto his knees at gunpoint.
They strapped Clara securely onto a cold metal operating table in the center of the room.
Richard excitedly ordered the lead surgeon to begin the fatal extraction procedure immediately.
The tall surgeon silently walked over to a metal tray and slowly picked up a razor-sharp surgical scalpel.
He stood directly over Clara, staring entirely down at her highly terrified, completely helpless face.
But instead of making a completely fatal incision, the surgeon suddenly froze entirely in place.
He slowly reached up with his gloved hands and completely removed his thick surgical mask.
Elias gasped in absolute pure shock as he stared entirely at the older man's highly familiar, deeply scarred face.

The lead surgeon was completely entirely none other than Dr. Thomas Vance, Elias's adoptive father who had disappeared years ago.
"I have actively spent ten entire years completely hunting you for what you did to my family, Richard," Thomas declared fiercely.
