Chapter 8 - The Confrontation

Tyler stared down at his fallen accomplice in absolute, sheer panic.
He dropped his crystal champagne glass and it shattered loudly on the polished floor.
Chloe lunged forward desperately and tried to grab the heavy box of money.
Elias stepped his heavy boot hard onto the cardboard box, pinning it securely to the ground.
"I would highly advise against doing that if I were you," Elias warned darkly.
Tyler backed away slowly toward the restricted boarding doors.
"You cannot possibly stop us from leaving."
"Our chartered plane is waiting for us right outside on the runway."
Frank walked bravely into the room with angry tears streaming down his face.
"Why did you do this horrible thing to us, Tyler?"
Tyler sneered aggressively at the heartbroken old man.
"I did it because you were such an incredibly easy mark, Frank."
"You were so pathetic and desperate to give your boring daughter a fake fairy tale."
Maddie did not cry a single tear.
She felt nothing but absolute, crystal-clear clarity.
She walked directly up to Tyler and slapped him viciously across the face.
The sharp sound echoed incredibly loudly through the empty terminal space.
Tyler raised his hand furiously to strike her back.
Elias caught Tyler's wrist perfectly in mid-air and twisted it until he whimpered.
"Do not ever attempt to touch her again," Elias growled dangerously.
Loud police sirens suddenly began to wail rapidly in the distance.
Bright blue and red lights flashed intensely across the tarmac windows.
"I called the local authorities from the van while you were distracted," Elias explained.
"I also sent them the security video footage of your hired friends attacking us at the venue."
Tyler's arrogant face completely drained of all its color.
Chloe dropped to the floor and began to sob hysterically.
"This massive scam was entirely his horrible idea!" Chloe screamed loudly.
"He lied and told me he loved me!"
Tyler violently pushed Chloe aside and bolted for the exit doors.
He burst out onto the wet tarmac running desperately toward the private jet.
Maddie watched him run with cold, complete satisfaction.
The police cars smashed through the perimeter gates and instantly surrounded the plane.
Tyler froze completely still as six armed officers aimed their weapons directly at his chest.

Maddie turned gracefully to Elias and smiled a genuine smile.
"I truly believe it is time for dessert now."
