Chapter 7 - The Final Course

Maddie slowly pulled her hand away from the cold glass door handle.
"The violent loan sharks beat us here," she whispered in horror.
Elias observed the unfolding scene with cold, calculating eyes.
"They are not actually holding your fiancé hostage."
"Look very closely at their relaxed body language."
Maddie watched the tall thug laugh loudly and pat Tyler affectionately on the shoulder.
Tyler happily handed the dangerous man a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills from the gift box.
"They are actively working together," Frank gasped painfully from behind them.
"There was never a real loan," Elias confirmed grimly.
"Tyler hired those fake thugs to scare you into handing over the physical house deed."
Maddie felt her heart shatter completely into a million pieces.
Every single piece of her long relationship had been a meticulously calculated financial scam.
Tyler had orchestrated the entire tragedy just to rob her innocent family blind.
"I am going inside there right now," Maddie declared.
Elias grabbed her bare arm firmly.
"There are armed, dangerous criminals inside that room."
"I do not care about the danger anymore."
Maddie pushed open the heavy glass doors and marched proudly into the terminal.
Her white dress billowed behind her fiercely like a terrible thunderstorm.
Tyler looked up from his champagne flute and his jaw dropped in sheer terror.
Chloe screamed loudly and stepped cowardly behind Tyler's back.
The tall thug reached inside his leather jacket for his concealed weapon.
"Hello, Tyler," Maddie said with an eerie, deadly calm.
"Maddie, what on earth are you doing here?" Tyler stammered nervously.
"I came here to collect my stolen wedding presents."
Tyler quickly recovered from his shock and laughed with cruel arrogance.
"You really are pathetic, Maddie."
"You actually followed me all the way here in your stupid, cheap dress?"
"Take her out right now," Tyler ordered the tall thug.
The tall man pulled his heavy gun and aimed it directly at Maddie's chest.
Before he could pull the trigger, the terminal lights went completely dark.
A incredibly loud crashing sound echoed through the pitch-black room.

When the emergency backup lights finally flickered on, the thug was completely unconscious on the floor.
Elias stood casually over the fallen man holding a heavy red fire extinguisher.
