Chapter 3 - The Empty Chamber

Hannah stared at the useless, unloaded weapon in her trembling hands.

Silas had intentionally given her an empty gun, sending her completely defenseless into the dangerous city.

She tossed the heavy metal into a nearby dumpster and pulled her grey hood tightly over her head.

The freezing rain soaked through her sweatshirt as she navigated the dark, deserted alleyways.

She finally reached the address Silas had quickly whispered to her in the church basement.

It was a massive, abandoned psychiatric hospital located on the very edge of the industrial district.

The iron gates were heavily rusted, but a small side door had been left slightly ajar.

Hannah crept inside the decaying building, jumping at every terrifying sound echoing down the halls.

She followed a series of fresh, muddy footprints leading directly toward the isolated surgical wing.

A faint, flickering yellow light spilled out from underneath a heavy steel door at the end of the corridor.

Hannah slowly pushed the door open, completely terrified of what she might find inside.

The room was set up like a modern, fully equipped medical laboratory completely hidden from the world.

Sitting on a metal examination table was her beloved brother Julian, looking perfectly healthy.

Tears of absolute joy flooded her eyes as she rushed forward to fiercely hug him.

Julian smiled warmly and wrapped his strong arms securely around her shivering shoulders.

May you like

Hannah cried heavily into his chest, entirely relieved that they were finally reunited.

Then, Julian calmly reached behind her back and plunged a syringe full of sedative directly into her neck.
