Chapter 2 - The Silent Escape

Eleanor gasped in pure shock as the cold fingers dug brutally into her pale skin.
The entire church erupted into absolute chaos as the wealthy elite scrambled frantically toward the locked exits.
The security guards immediately dropped Hannah and rushed forward to protect the powerful matriarch.
Hannah did not waste a single second staring at the impossible scene unfolding at the altar.
She scrambled to her feet and sprinted aggressively down the narrow, dimly lit side corridor.
Her heart pounded violently in her chest as she desperately searched for a secondary exit.
She found a heavy wooden door leading to the church basement and quickly slipped inside.
The basement was completely dark, smelling heavily of damp earth and old incense.
She fumbled carefully down the concrete stairs, praying the guards would not follow her into the shadows.
Suddenly, a strong hand clamped firmly over her mouth from behind in the pitch-black darkness.
Hannah thrashed wildly, throwing her elbows back to strike her unseen attacker.
A deep, familiar voice whispered urgently in her ear to stop fighting before they heard her.
It was Silas, the head of Eleanor's private security team.
He turned on a small flashlight and revealed a secret stone tunnel hidden behind the old boiler.
Silas explained that Julian was still alive and waiting for her at a highly secure location.
He handed her a loaded pistol and urged her to run through the tunnel immediately.

Hannah crawled through the narrow dirt passage until she finally reached the rainy city streets.
She checked the pistol's magazine, only to discover that it was completely empty.
