Chapter 5 - The Corporate Trap
The revelation hit me with the force of a runaway freight train.
My entire life, my struggles, and my sacrifices had been built on a foundation of absolute lies.
My father had stolen millions in corporate secrets, yet he still forced me to pay the grocery bills so Madison could buy designer clothes.
I looked Julian directly in the eyes and told him I was fully on board to dismantle their lives.
Julian assigned his best corporate lawyers to help me build a bulletproof fraud case regarding the forged loan.
We needed concrete evidence that my parents were the ones who physically signed the digital documents.
I remembered that my father had installed a hidden security camera in his home office years ago to protect his stolen files.
I used my old administrative passwords to secretly log into their home network from my Chicago office.
I accessed the cloud storage for the security camera and searched the archives for the exact date the loan was finalized.
The video file loaded, showing the interior of my father's dimly lit office.
I expected to see my father sitting at the desk, forging my name on the digital pad.
But the person sitting in the leather chair was not my father.
It was Madison, laughing on her cell phone while she expertly traced my signature onto the bank documents.
My fragile, supposedly helpless sister was the true mastermind behind the financial ruin meant to trap me.
I quickly downloaded the high-definition video, securing the exact evidence Julian needed to bury them.
Just as the download reached one hundred percent, a chilling notification popped up on my screen.
The home network displayed a warning that an external user was currently attempting to hack my exact location.
Before I could sever the connection, my office phone rang.

I picked it up slowly, and my mother's cruel voice hissed through the speaker.
She told me to look out the window of my corner office, because she was standing on the sidewalk directly below.
