Chapter 7 - The Mastermind Revealed

My mother stood frozen in the doorway, her mouth hanging completely open in absolute terror.
One of Victor's massive guards slammed the front door shut and locked the deadbolt behind her.
Victor stood up from the sofa and casually blew a thick cloud of cigar smoke toward the ceiling.
He walked slowly toward my trembling mother, analyzing her face with a look of deep, burning hatred.
He softly told her that she looked exactly the same as she did twenty years ago when she orchestrated the entire robbery.
I felt the entire room spin as Victor's shocking words echoed through the silent house.
My father began crying even harder, frantically apologizing to Victor for what they had done.
Victor ignored my father and explained the horrific truth to me.
My father was far too cowardly and stupid to pull off a multi-million dollar heist on a ruthless crime syndicate.
It was my mother who had meticulously planned the robbery, manipulated the security codes, and framed Victor.
She was the true evil mastermind behind our family's comfortable, suburban illusion.
My mother's terrified expression suddenly vanished, completely replaced by a cold, calculating glare.
She looked directly at Victor and boldly offered to make a brand new deal to save her own life.
She pointed a perfectly manicured finger at my father, Vanessa, and Mark.
She coldly told Victor that he could kill all three of them right now if he simply let her walk out the front door.
Vanessa shrieked in absolute horror, completely unable to believe that her own mother had just sentenced her to death.
My father stared at his wife of thirty years, his heart breaking completely as he realized she never loved him at all.
I felt an overwhelming wave of disgust wash over me as I witnessed the true, monstrous nature of my mother.
Victor laughed a booming, villainous laugh, thoroughly entertained by the sheer depravity of this family.
He told my mother that her offer was incredibly tempting, but he had already made a binding contract with me.
Victor turned to me and stated that my mother absolutely had to be included in my promise of federal prison time.
I nodded firmly, promising that I had enough evidence to put both of my parents behind bars forever.
Mark suddenly began thrashing violently against his ropes, screaming through his gag that he wanted to confess something massive.
Victor signaled his guard to remove the dirty rag from Mark's mouth.

Mark gasped for air and screamed that Vanessa did not just fake her pregnancy to steal the house.
He aggressively revealed that Vanessa owed a massive, dangerous gambling debt to a rival cartel, and she planned to sell the house to save her own life.
