Chapter 5 - The Hidden Truth

Graham looked completely unhinged, his tuxedo torn and covered in dirt. "Put the gun away, Graham," Julian commanded, his voice perfectly steady. "You have nowhere left to run." My father laughed, a harsh, desperate sound that echoed in the empty office. "I don't need to run," he sneered, nodding toward the photograph in my hand. "You found the real secret, Clara." I clutched the photo tightly, my mind racing with terrifying possibilities. "Who is this man?" I demanded, my voice shaking with anger. "And who is that baby?" Graham's smile faded, his face twisting into a mask of pure resentment. "That man was your mother's real true love," he spat bitterly. "And that baby... is your older brother." The room started to spin, the air suddenly too thin to breathe. "I don't have a brother," I whispered, the words tasting like ash in my mouth. "You do," my father replied, his eyes filled with malicious glee. "Your mother had an affair, and when she got pregnant, she tried to leave me." He took a step closer, the shotgun still aimed at Julian's chest. "I couldn't let her take half my company, so I took the baby and hid her away." "You monster," I breathed, tears streaming down my face. "Where is he? Where is my brother?" Graham chuckled, a sickening sound that made my skin crawl. "You've already met him, Clara," he said, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "He was at the wedding tonight." I replayed the entire night in my head, trying to remember every face. And then it hit me, a sickening realization that made my blood run cold. Sophie's new husband, Ryan. The man who had just tried to kill my father. "Ryan is my brother?" I gasped, the horror of the situation washing over me. "Yes," a new voice echoed from the hallway, stepping out of the shadows. It was the District Attorney, the man Julian had called to arrest my father. And he was holding a gun pointed directly at Julian's head.
