Chapter 6 - The Hounds of Hell

I stared at the man who had murdered my wife and destroyed my entire existence.

All my years of police discipline completely vanished in an instant.

I charged at Arthur with pure, unrestrained murder in my eyes.

Arthur didn't even attempt to run away.

He simply pressed a bright red button on the remote control in his hand.

A heavy steel door at the end of the corridor slid open with a loud screech.

The terrifying sound of clicking claws echoed rapidly against the concrete floor.

Three massive, starved Dobermans charged down the hallway directly toward me.

Foam dripped from their vicious jaws as they barked with savage fury.

Arthur stepped quickly behind a bulletproof glass partition and locked the heavy door.

"Enjoy the company, David," Arthur smiled through the thick glass.

The first dog lunged directly at my throat.

I dropped to the floor, wrapping my thick leather jacket around my left arm.

The dog bit down hard on my protected arm, its teeth tearing through the heavy leather.

I drove my right fist directly into the animal's ribs, feeling the bones crack under the impact.

The dog yelped and released its terrible grip.

The second dog jumped, aiming for my exposed face.

I rolled backward, kicking my heavy work boot squarely into its jaw.

The third dog managed to bite deeply into my calf, sending a shockwave of white-hot pain up my leg.

I screamed and grabbed a heavy fire extinguisher bolted to the nearby wall.

I smashed the heavy red metal cylinder down onto the dog's skull.

The animal went limp instantly.

I stood up, bleeding heavily from my leg, gasping for breath.

The remaining two dogs paced back and forth, waiting for another chance to strike.

I pulled the safety pin out of the fire extinguisher.

I sprayed the freezing white chemical foam directly into their sensitive faces.

The dogs whimpered and retreated blindly down the dark hallway.

I turned back to the bulletproof glass partition.

Arthur's smug smile had completely vanished from his face.

I picked up the heavy fire extinguisher.

I swung it like a baseball bat directly into the center of the reinforced glass.

A massive spiderweb crack immediately appeared across Arthur's face.

I raised the heavy metal cylinder to strike again.
