Chapter 2 - The Lockdown

The final bell loudly rang, signaling the end of the school day.
Students immediately flooded out of the classroom, eager to start their weekend.
Caleb remained frozen in his seat, his heart heavily pounding against his ribs.
He stared in horror at the terrifying message on his hidden phone.
Someone had hacked into his device remotely and wiped his photo gallery.
He nervously looked around the emptying room, desperately searching for hidden security cameras.
Mrs. Baxter was casually erasing the chalkboard, humming a cheerful little tune.
Caleb grabbed his backpack and bolted out into the crowded hallway.
He had to find Malik and warn him before the school assembly started.
He pushed his way through the sea of teenagers, finally spotting Malik at his locker.
"Malik, we need to leave the school right now," Caleb panted, grabbing his friend’s shoulder.
Malik rolled his eyes and shrugged Caleb’s hand off his jacket.
"Leave me alone, Caleb, I need to get ready for the scholarship presentation."
"You don't understand, Mrs. Baxter is planning something terrible for you," Caleb pleaded.
He quickly explained the text message he had seen on the teacher's desk.
Malik let out a harsh laugh, slamming his metal locker shut.
"You are just jealous because your grades aren't good enough to qualify for the money."
Before Caleb could defend himself, the school intercom crackled loudly to life.
A piercing emergency siren echoed through the concrete hallways.
The principal’s voice blasted over the speakers, sounding panicked and breathless.
"Code Red lockdown, this is not a drill, I repeat, this is a Code Red lockdown."
Heavy steel security doors began descending from the ceiling, sealing off the main exits.
Students screamed and scattered, running into nearby classrooms for safety.
Caleb tried to pull Malik toward the nearest exit, but a steel door slammed shut, blocking their path.
The principal’s voice returned to the intercom with a terrifying update.
"Attention all staff, there is an armed intruder in the building."
"The suspect is a male student wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans."
Malik slowly turned his head and looked at Caleb.

Caleb was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
The principal continued, "The suspect is identified as Caleb Vance, and he is considered extremely dangerous."
