Adrian stared at Vanessa in complete shock as the burning mansion crackled loudly behind them.
He demanded to know exactly what she meant by such an insane and impossible accusation.
Vanessa coughed violently, wiping the thick soot from her bruised and tear-stained face.
She revealed that Mia was actually the biological child of Adrian's deceased older brother, Michael.
Michael had been secretly married to Victor's runaway daughter, making Mia the direct granddaughter of the ruthless billionaire.

Adrian left Vanessa sitting on the grass for the arriving police and sprinted toward his surviving sports car parked in the garage.
As he reached the driveway, a sleek black tactical van screeched to a halt directly blocking his path.
The heavy side door slid open, and a woman stepped out into the flashing red lights of the distant fire engines.
Adrian felt the breath completely vanish from his lungs as he recognized the face in the darkness.
It was Clara, his late brother's wife and Mia's true biological mother, who was supposed to be dead for seven years.
Clara held a suppressed submachine gun and wore a highly advanced, military-grade tactical suit.
She explained rapidly that she had faked her death to escape her father's assassins and had been watching over Mia from the shadows.
