Chapter 6 - THE FORTRESS

Marcus Thorne was terrified.
With Julian singing to the feds, Dante arrested at my house, and his warehouses raided, Marcus retreated to his fortified compound in the hills outside the city. He locked himself inside with his three remaining sons—Leo, Victor Jr., and Jax—and twenty hired mercenaries armed to the teeth.
They expected an army. They expected the FBI.
They didn't expect a ghost.
I arrived at the perimeter of the compound at 2300 hours. The estate was surrounded by a ten-foot electrified fence and security cameras.
I didn't try to break through the fence. I climbed a massive oak tree fifty yards away, pulled out a suppressed sniper rifle, and systematically shot out the power transformers leading into the property.
The compound plunged into total darkness.
A moment later, backup generators kicked in, but I had already fired three armor-piercing rounds into the generator blocks. The estate went pitch black again, and this time, it stayed that way.
Chaos erupted over the mercenaries' radio frequencies, which I was actively monitoring.

"We have a breach! Perimeter is dark! Use flashlights!"
I dropped from the tree, wearing a thermal ghillie suit that masked my heat signature. I slipped over the back wall like a shadow. It was time to hunt.
