Chapter 4 - THE INTERROGATION

Dante was tough, but everyone breaks when they realize they are no longer the apex predator.
I tied him to a heavy wooden chair in my soundproofed garage. When he woke up, he spat blood onto the concrete floor and laughed.
"You think this changes anything?" Dante sneered. "My father owns the police. Detective Carter is on our payroll. If you kill me, you'll spend the rest of your life in a federal penitentiary."
"I'm not going to kill you, Dante," I said, calmly pulling up a chair opposite him. "I just needed you off the board."
I pulled out my phone and played an audio recording. It was Julian's confession from the nightclub, detailing exactly how Dante had swung the wrench at Elena.
"I sent that audio file, along with the shipping ledgers, to a contact I have in the FBI's organized crime division," I explained. "The local cops might be on your father's payroll, but the feds aren't. They are raiding your port warehouses as we speak."
Dante’s arrogant facade completely crumbled. "You're lying."
May you like
"I don't lie," I replied, standing up. "You shattered my wife's bones because you thought she was a threat. You didn't realize she was the only thing keeping me civilized."
I left Dante tied to the chair, dialed an anonymous tip to the state troopers, and walked out into the night. Three brothers down. Three to go.
