Chapter 6 - The Insurance Confrontation

I slammed both of my hands down on the mahogany desk, making Hailey jump out of her expensive leather chair in absolute terror.
The insurance agent looked at me in shock as I snatched the fraudulent paperwork directly out of his hands.
I stared into Hailey’s panicked eyes, leaning across the desk with a completely murderous glare.
I quietly slid the medical toxicology report proving the poison across the polished wood, right into her line of sight.
I promised her in a cold, deadly whisper that I was going to utterly destroy her entire life by the end of the day.
Hailey burst into hysterical tears, dropping to her knees in the middle of the crowded corporate lobby.
She desperately begged for my mercy, wildly claiming that none of this sinister plot was originally her idea.
She confessed that Brandon owed over three million dollars to a violently dangerous local cartel due to an underground gambling addiction.
They desperately needed me locked away in federal prison and Skylar out of the picture to collect the massive insurance funds.
The cartel had threatened to execute the entire family by the end of the week if the massive debt was not fully paid.
I felt a sickening wave of disgust, realizing my husband had sold his own daughter's life to save his pathetic skin.
I reached down and forcefully ripped Hailey's unlocked cell phone directly out of her trembling hands.
I opened her tracking app to find Brandon’s current location, needing to know exactly where the monster was hiding.
The bright blue dot on the digital map made my breath catch violently in my throat.
May you like
Brandon was not hiding at our house or meeting with his wealthy, corrupt boss.
His live location was pinging from the exact address of the private medical clinic where I had just left Skylar.
