Chapter 6 - The Blackwood Raid

I crawled across the broken glass and escaped through the back exit of Daniel's house.
I needed to reach the Blackwood Clinic before the mercenaries erased all the evidence.
I drove out to the desolate edge of the city, where the clinic sat hidden behind thick iron gates.
I did not bother with stealth or negotiation.
I drove my heavy armored SUV directly through the front security barriers.
The vehicle smashed into the glass lobby, sending the corrupt guards scrambling in panic.
I stepped out of the wreckage, firing my weapon with lethal, calculated precision.
I cleared the first floor in minutes, moving like a machine fueled entirely by rage.
I found the elevator and forced the doors open, climbing up the cables to the third floor.
I kicked open the heavy door to the secure psychiatric wing.
I ran down the sterile white hallway, checking the nameplate on every single door.
I finally found Room 314, the room number written on the back of Elena's forged photograph.
I blew the electronic lock off the door and rushed inside.
The medical bed was completely empty, the sheets still warm to the touch.
An IV drip was ripped from its stand, dripping clear fluid onto the linoleum floor.
I felt a crushing wave of despair wash over my exhausted body.
Then I noticed a message written in fresh red lipstick across the vanity mirror.
It told me to bring the deed to my entire shipping empire to the old naval shipyards at midnight.

If I involved the police, I would receive my family back in small, tragic pieces.
The note was signed by someone calling themselves the true heir to the Moretti throne.
