Chapter 2 - The Hostile Takeover

Ethan instinctively stepped in front of Ava to successfully shield her from the armed intruders.
Lena grabbed a heavy brass lamp from the side table to fiercely defend herself.
Margaret simply laughed at their completely pathetic attempts to fight back against her.
She revealed that these men were elite mercenaries hired by her private security firm.
"You have exactly two minutes to pack a bag and leave my property," Margaret announced loudly.
Ethan furiously reminded her that this grand mansion belonged entirely to Ava.
Margaret calmly pulled a newly stamped legal folder directly from her designer handbag.
She happily explained that a corrupt judge had just signed a permanent emergency conservatorship.
The fraudulent documents officially declared Ethan and Ava mentally unfit to manage their own estate.
Margaret now legally controlled every single penny and property they had ever owned.
"If you refuse to leave gracefully, my men will remove you by brutal force," she threatened coldly.
Ethan looked at the heavy assault rifles and knew they had absolutely no other choice.
He tightly gripped the handles of Ava's wheelchair and pushed her slowly toward the door.
Lena followed closely behind, carrying a small medical bag of absolute essentials.
They walked out into the freezing rain, violently leaving everything they loved behind.
Ethan managed to perfectly flag down a passing taxi and helped his weeping wife inside.
They drove to a incredibly cheap, run-down motel on the dangerous outskirts of the city.
Ava cried softly onto Ethan's shoulder, utterly devastated by the sudden, brutal betrayal.
Ethan kissed her forehead gently and promised he would fix this absolute nightmare.
He pulled the mechanic's invoice from his pocket, entirely determined to find the undeniable truth.
He told Lena to lock the motel door securely and protect Ava with her own life.
Ethan stepped into the stormy night and drove straight to the mechanic's address listed on the paper.
The auto shop was completely dark and appeared highly abandoned.
Ethan broke a dirty side window and carefully climbed inside the silent, greasy building.
He found the main office and began frantically tearing through the filthy filing cabinets.
He finally uncovered a hidden digital flash drive taped securely underneath the desk drawer.
Just as he firmly grabbed the evidence, the heavy metal garage doors suddenly slammed completely shut.

The strong, suffocating smell of fresh gasoline instantly flooded the small room.
A lit match was tossed perfectly through the broken window, igniting the floor into a massive wall of fire.
