Chapter 1 - The Broken Truth

Ethan stood frozen in the doorway as his black briefcase slipped from his hand.
His terrified eyes slowly moved across the chaotic room.
He saw the overturned wheelchair and the white pills scattered wildly across the floor.
Lena clutched her swollen cheek while Ava lay helplessly on the hardwood floor.
Margaret turned pale, instantly realizing she could not explain away this horrific scene.
"Ethan, this is a terrible misunderstanding," Margaret stammered, taking a cautious step backward.
Ethan ignored his mother completely and rushed directly to his crying wife.
He gently lifted Ava into his arms and carefully placed her back into her wheelchair.
Lena stepped forward, her voice shaking with absolute rage.
"She tried to force Ava to swallow those pills and sign away her entire inheritance," Lena revealed.
Margaret screamed that the maid was a liar, but Ethan raised a trembling hand.
He walked over to the desk and stared deeply at the forged legal documents.
The papers clearly transferred all of Ava's wealth and medical decisions directly to Margaret.
Ethan turned to his mother with a look of pure, unadulterated disgust.
"Get out of my house before I call the police," Ethan commanded coldly.
Margaret sneered aggressively, grabbing her expensive coat with trembling hands.
She promised Ethan that he would deeply regret choosing a crippled woman over his own flesh and blood.
After she left, Ethan began furiously searching the room for more hidden evidence.
He found a secret compartment inside Margaret's favorite antique bookshelf.
Inside was a twisted audio recorder and a detailed invoice from a local mechanic.
The invoice was dated the exact same night as Ava's tragic car crash.
It listed a massive payment for intentionally severing the brake lines on Ava's vehicle.
Ethan realized with sheer horror that his mother had orchestrated the crash to paralyze her.
He immediately dialed the police to report the attempted murder.
The front door suddenly burst open before the emergency call even connected.
Five heavily armed men in dark suits stormed into the living room with their weapons drawn.

Margaret walked perfectly in behind them, completely unfazed and smiling wickedly.
"I told you that you would absolutely regret this, my sweet boy," she whispered.
