Chapter 9 - The Legal War

The morning sun cast a cold glare over the massive concrete steps of the city courthouse.
I walked into the grand courtroom surrounded by Rosa, David, and a team of elite prosecutors.
Judge Vance sat high behind his wooden bench, looking down at us with a look of immense boredom.
My father sat at the defense table in an orange jumpsuit, but he wore a highly confident smirk.
The lead prosecutor presented the documents from the Black Box to the judge.
Judge Vance barely glanced at the fragile papers before tossing them carelessly onto his desk.
"These documents appear to be highly fabricated and entirely inadmissible in this court," Judge Vance declared loudly.
A collective gasp echoed through the crowded courtroom gallery.
"Your Honor, those are original certified documents!" the prosecutor argued passionately.
Judge Vance slammed his heavy wooden gavel to silence the room.
"I am dismissing all charges against Mr. Whitaker due to a severe lack of credible evidence," the corrupt judge announced.
My father turned around and smiled directly at me, believing he had won the ultimate victory.
He was about to walk out of the courtroom as a completely free and incredibly wealthy man.
I refused to let this corrupt system destroy my family for a second time.
I stood up from my chair and walked directly into the center aisle of the courtroom.
"I completely anticipated that you would try to bury the truth today, Judge Vance," I said loudly.
The judge glared at me and threatened to hold me in criminal contempt of court.
I pulled my cell phone from my pocket and held it high in the air for everyone to see.
"Ten minutes ago, I securely emailed digital copies of these exact documents to every major news outlet in the country."
I also forwarded the financial ledgers directly to the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
"The FBI is already raiding your personal bank accounts as we speak, Your Honor."
The color completely drained from the corrupt judge's arrogant face.

My father's smug smile vanished instantly as the heavy courtroom doors swung violently open.
Six federal agents marched down the aisle wearing dark suits and carrying federal arrest warrants.
