Chapter 8 - The Master Manipulator

The blinding shockwave violently rocked the heavy SUV, forcefully shattering the reinforced windshield and raining sharp, heavy debris down upon the thick metal roof.

Arthur shielded his eyes from the incredibly intense heat of the massive explosion, completely horrified as he watched the massive industrial hangar aggressively become an inescapable inferno.

"Leo is inside that massive building, we have to get in there right now!" Arthur screamed wildly, violently kicking his jammed door open and sprinting recklessly toward the raging fire.

David and Maria rapidly followed close behind, completely ignoring the heavy, dangerous chunks of burning metal raining down violently across the destroyed courtyard.

The massive steel doors of the main hangar had been completely blown entirely off their heavy tracks, creating a massive, highly dangerous entrance into the burning hellscape.

Arthur aggressively breached the smoky entrance, his heavy rifle raised as he desperately coughed through the incredibly toxic, black smoke quickly filling his lungs.

The heavily armed mercenaries who had been proudly guarding the doors were entirely gone, replaced only by massive, twisted piles of burning debris and highly unstable scaffolding.

"Marcus! Show your miserable face right now, you absolute coward!" Arthur roared fiercely over the deafening, chaotic roar of the rapidly consuming flames.

A loud, mocking laugh suddenly echoed through the massive building's distorted intercom system, sending a cold, paralyzing chill directly down Arthur's spine despite the incredible heat.

"I must absolutely applaud your impressive persistence, Arthur, but you are completely too late to successfully save your pathetic legacy," Marcus announced smugly through the crackling speakers.

Maria desperately grabbed Arthur's heavy shoulder and pointed violently toward a highly elevated, blast-proof observation deck located near the very back of the massive hangar.

Behind the thick, entirely bulletproof glass, Marcus was casually standing with a highly confident smirk, firmly holding a terrifyingly small pistol completely against little Leo's trembling head.

"Daddy, please help me, it is entirely too hot in here!" Leo screamed completely hysterically, pounding his tiny fists uselessly against the incredibly thick glass barrier.

Arthur felt his massive heart completely shatter into a million painful pieces, violently aiming his heavy rifle directly at the smug lawyer's head despite knowing the thick glass would effortlessly stop the bullet.

"Let the boy go right now, Marcus, and I will instantly transfer every single remaining cent of the massive corporate accounts entirely into your personal offshore funds!" Arthur aggressively begged, entirely dropping his pride.

Marcus simply shook his head slowly, casually tapping his expensive gold watch with highly exaggerated, mocking impatience.

"The heavy banking transactions were successfully completed five minutes ago, Arthur, meaning I no longer have any practical use for this extremely noisy little brat," the corrupt lawyer sneered entirely maliciously.

Arthur wildly prepared to completely unload his entire massive magazine into the thick glass, fully hoping that sheer, concentrated volume might eventually crack the impossible barrier.

Suddenly, the heavy metal door securely locking the observation deck violently swung wide open, completely shocking the highly arrogant lawyer who assumed he was entirely safe.

Elena, entirely covered in dark blood and holding a massively heavy steel pipe, aggressively charged directly into the secure room with an entirely terrifying, high-pitched scream.

"You entirely ruined my perfect life, you absolute bastard!" she roared wildly, violently swinging the heavy pipe directly into the back of Marcus's unsuspecting knees.

The heavy impact completely shattered the lawyer's leg with a sickening, loud crunch, forcefully dropping him directly onto the cold floor in massive, unexpected agony.

Marcus wildly dropped his heavy pistol as he desperately clutched his ruined knee, completely screaming in intense, unadulterated pain as Elena aggressively prepared for another violent strike.

Little Leo immediately seized the incredible, highly chaotic opportunity and sprinted wildly out of the secure observation deck, desperately running down the metal stairs toward his terrified father.

"Leo, run directly to me, completely ignore the flames!" Arthur screamed desperately, forcefully running forward to completely catch his crying son in a massive, deeply protective embrace.

Arthur entirely buried his face securely into his son's messy hair, profoundly sobbing with pure, absolute relief as he held the most highly precious thing in his entire world.

"Get entirely out of this burning building right now, the massive central roof is going to completely collapse in less than thirty seconds!" David yelled frantically, physically dragging them forcefully toward the exit.

They rapidly sprinted completely out of the massive hangar just as the gigantic, heavily burning steel beams violently crashed directly down onto the main concrete floor, completely destroying everything inside.

As they safely reached the cool, highly refreshing air of the dark forest, Arthur quickly turned back to completely observe the massive, entirely destroyed structure fully consumed by fire.

"Where is Elena, did she successfully escape the massive fire?" Maria asked completely breathlessly, quickly checking little Leo for any serious, hidden burns.

Arthur slowly shook his head completely solemnly, deeply staring into the massive, violently swirling flames that had successfully consumed both his highly treacherous wife and his deeply corrupt lawyer.

"She aggressively made her final, highly fatal choice, and she successfully paid the absolute ultimate price for her massive, highly destructive greed," Arthur firmly stated, completely turning his back on the burning nightmare.

But as they slowly walked entirely back to the heavily damaged SUV, David violently raised his heavy rifle, completely aiming it directly at the dark, silent treeline behind them.

"We have a completely massive, entirely unexpected problem," David announced strictly, quickly chambering a heavy round as highly trained, heavily armed figures silently emerged rapidly from the dark woods.
